Is your teen feeling a lingering pain towards the back of their jaw? If so, their wisdom teeth might be trying to come in. Most of the time, these teeth become impacted, or stuck, because people simply don’t have enough room for them in their mouths. This can not only cause pain, but teeth crowding and possibly an infection as well. Instead of visiting a specialist, the team at Advanced Smile Design can remove these teeth using our experienced hands and state-of-the-art technology to guarantee a stress-free experience from beginning to end.
We’ll keep a close eye on your child’s wisdom teeth whenever they come to see us for a routine checkup so we can hopefully remove them before they cause any problems. When it’s time for them to come out, we’ll start by numbing your child’s mouth so they won’t feel a thing. Then, we’ll make a small incision in the gums and remove any bone that is still encapsulating a tooth before extracting the tooth itself. We’ll then close the site using self-dissolving sutures. Your teen will likely experience a little bleeding and swelling afterward, but their mouth should feel completely normal within a week or so.
